gildemeister ag | the community Fischen celebrated its 1150 anniversary. an occasion to face even to its unglamorous part of history: the former concentration camp. required was a memorial and a responsible and sensitive approach. no subject with a raised index finger, but a visible sign against forgetting. the body is made of aluminum, according to the former factory. the building is open and not yet visible, it seems repellent and disturbing. for the font we chose a monospaced – the signs and distances are »standardized« stripped of their individuality. the result is a mixture of applied arts and communication design.
